Inpatient medical detoxification is a very important first step on the path to healthy, sustainable recovery. Attempting home detox or self detox is dangerous, and can lead to serious health issues including death. Drug and alcohol detoxification is safest in a fully-monitored inpatient setting led by a physician who is board certified in addiction medicine and supported by a staff of medical personnel who have experience in detoxification and withdrawal symptoms.
At Miracles In Action, we provide caring, compassionate and comfortable inpatient detoxification services led by our staff physician, Dr. Bruce Stark, MD. We take every precaution to ensure that our inpatient detoxification services adhere to the very highest standards in addiction care. Our clients go through our medically-supervised detoxification program knowing that they are safest from the complications and discomforts that arise during the detox process.
During the detoxification process, your body will go through the symptoms of physical withdrawal. Dr. Stark and the nursing team will prescribe and administer the latest and most advanced medications and therapies to ensure that you emerge from the detoxification process safely and as comfortably as possible. Detox can be a very intense time with not only physical symptoms, but strong emotions as well. Many times we’ve used chemical substances such as drugs and alcohol to help us handle our strong emotions. We provide licensed therapists during detoxification to help our clients begin to process and manage these emotions.
The cornerstone of our recovery services is our residential drug and alcohol treatment program. Our residential program establishes the strong foundation on which recovery can be built.
Upon arrival, each individual receives a thorough assessment and together we design a unique treatment plan to help you achieve your goals and meet your expectations for recovery. We utilize the latest evidence-based therapies available for the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction, all provided with empathy and emotional support in an environment free from outside triggers.
As a fully licensed and staffed 24/7 medical facility, Miracles In Action also provides treatment for emotional disorders commonly diagnosed alongside addiction such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and more. Our staff is fully qualified to treat drug and alcohol addictions, mental disorders, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders.
At Miracles In Action, we’ll utilize some or all of the following processes and techniques to help guide you on your recovery journey:
The minimum recommended length of stay at Miracles In Action is 30 days, however studies have shown that longer residential treatment stays increase the effectiveness of treatment and likelihood of greater success in recovery. While longer stays may not always be financially feasible for some of our clients, we our very best to work within budgets to offer longer lengths of stay if all are in agreement that greater benefit can be achieved.
Once a residential treatment program has been completed, our clients may take advantage of our outpatient treatment programs for continued support and accountability in recovery.
As addiction treatment research has advanced over the last few decades, it has been discovered that one of the greatest causes of addiction relapse is the presence of untreated underlying mental or emotional disorders. In order to give you the greatest possible chance at success, we offer psyciatric and biopsychosocial assessments to help find and treat the most common disorders that accompany addiction.
Led by our psychiatrist and team of licensed medical professionals, we diagnose and treat the disorders that interfere with successful long-term recovery. If you are currently taking medication for a mental or emotional disorder, our psychiatrist can help you find, optimize, and manage the best treatment regimen for your diagnoses.
The greatest benefit of dual diagnosis management is relief from the disorders that cause the greatest emotional struggles and barriers to recovery. If you suspect that you might have a co-occurring disorder in addition to addiction, give us a call and we can discuss with you the potential treatment strategies that we use and work best for each diagnosis.
Partial Hospitalization Program also referred to as PHP is a program designed to treat psychological disorders and substance abuse concurrently. In this program, our patients receive addiction and mental health treatment on an outpatient level while residing at home or in sober living. Patients in our Partial Hospitalization Program will attend our treatment center for 25-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Patients are given biopsychosocial assessments by our highly educated and experienced clinical staff to determine their treatment goals and needs and to develop their individualized treatment plan. Treatment for Partial Hospitalization may include group therapy, individual therapy, life-skills support, psych-education to help patients better understand their illness/addiction, individual work, check-ins and assessments as well as therapeutic intervention services based on the clients needs. Our program is intended to avert relapse by giving the tools and important coping skills to fortify relapse prevention.
At Miracles in Action Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (also known as IOP) is a primary treatment program that is often clinically recommended for individuals who suffer from drug or alcohol addiction and co-occurring disorders, and who do not require detox, or who have successfully detoxed. The IOP enables individuals suffering from addiction to undergo the therapies required for long-term recovery on a part-time yet intensive schedule. IOP scheduling is flexible and is tailored to best support a client’s career, school, parenting, and other life demands. We empower clients to truly live their lives in recovery. With flexible daytime or evening scheduling, our IOP takes place at our private and serene addiction treatment facility located in Burbank, California (greater Los Angeles County), and meets 3-5 times per week. With such intensive outpatient rehab, clients have the individualized attention of a therapist AND the support of others facing substance abuse/mental health issues.
Outpatient treatment plans vary in frequency, intensity, and duration, but a client-centered, evidence-based approach is core to our outpatient recovery programs. The Outpatient Program is designed to meet an individual wherever they are in the recovery process. When designing an outpatient treatment plan, our clinicians take many variables into account. These variables include substances used, length of sobriety, physical and mental health, work history and schedules, family relationships, and personal recovery needs and goals. The Outpatient Program treatment plan is adjusted as an individual meets important clinical milestones. Core treatment activities in the Outpatient Program include individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, as well as wellness and other healthy activities that are tailored to individual needs.
For people who have struggled with long-term addiction, our aftercare programs offer an excellent way to put your new-found recovery tools into practice in a safe, structured setting. Allowing for greater freedom to work or attend school, our aftercare programs provide support and accountability for those new in recovery, while easing you into recovery as you re-enter mainstream society.
Our aftercare programs also help you build new relationships in recovery within a healthy community of like-minded individuals. Miracles in Action will help you learn to cope with the struggles of everyday life in a productive manner utilizing the tools of recovery that you learned in treatment.
As part of a long-term treatment plan combined with our other services, our aftercare programs help you build on the recovery that you already have and helps you achieve the maximum benefit from your stay with us.
